After four years of cancellations for Les Dunes Electroniques due to recent years of socio-political unrest; this year it was finally back.

The festival welcomed 6000 attendees from all over the world, however most were locals hailing from around Tunisia. The site where it all happens in itself is very well known as many Star Wars scenes have been filmed here. It is a truly astounding place with culture deeply rooted in the sands and sunsets and sunrises like you have never seen on this Earth.

Musically it was a scene of a weekend – with 30 hours non-stop music in total. French house titans Apollonia brought the fire and Luciano’s minimal set really left a mark. Additionally, Behrouz impressed and Death on the Balcony’s desert dream-like sound suited the atmosphere perfectly.

And if you’re worried about sleeping in sand-filled tents then look no further – there are plenty of different types of comfortable accommodation ranging from hotels to hostels to guest houses to luxury rooms. For us this really tops it off to be a festival unlike any other.
